2020 Pilgrimage for Youth Cancelled due to Covid-19

It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that the 2020 Pilgrimage for Youth tour has been cancelled.  This decision was put off as long as we possibly could in hopes that the covid-19 virus would run its course and be over with.  Our youth’s health and safety is our top priority.  I have already shared this with the jurisdictions that were sponsoring delegates this year, but I thought all the jurisdictions needed to hear this.  The cancellation will also be posted on the SGL website.  More information will come in the next few days about next year’s program.  I would like to thank every jurisdiction that sponsored delegates this year and also those lodges that sent in donations for our program.  The donations will stay in the account for next year’s tour unless you want a refund.  More information will follow in the next few days with options for your delegate fees from this year.

The Board of Directors met by zoom on May 15 to deal with the issue of the tour cancellation and also set next years tour dates for July 3-16.  The Board also agreed that the delegates that were supposed to go this year will have the option of attending next year.  The age requirement and one year left in school will be waived as a one time consideration to make this possible for them.  A huge thank you to our Board of Directors for making this happen!

Thank all of you for supporting our program.  Our youth is our future.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Leonard Bolton, Executive Director
