The Sovereign Grand Lodge

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Sovereign Grand Lodge, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is the governing body of the IOOF, a fraternal organization.

The IOOF Sovereign Grand Lodge promotes the values of friendship, love, and truth, aiming to improve and elevate the character of mankind. We engage in humanitarian efforts such as visiting the sick, relieving the distressed, burying the dead, and educating orphans. Our organization also supports its members and their families during challenging times and oversees the operations of various regional Grand Lodges, ensuring they adhere to IOOF principles.

Friendship, Love and Truth Since 1819

Washington Lodge, No. 1, of Baltimore, was organized on April 26, 1819 under the leadership of Thomas Wildey, now recognized as the founder of the American Odd Fellowship.

Odd Fellows strive to improve and elevate the character of mankind by promoting the principles of friendship, love, truth, faith, hope, charity, and universal justice.
